Luckily, my husband has a filipino stomach. By that I mean, he doesn't have problems with eating rice and other filipino foods. As a matter of fact, he loves rice, lumpia, pork adobo, pansit canton, bihon, leche flan, buko juice, halo-halo among others. Basically, he doesn't have qualms in trying filipino foods. However, he made sure shrimps and bulad (dried fish) are out of the list though. Last night, I was in the mood of cooking lumpia and prawns. Hubby helped me wrap the lumpia while we talked about what had transpired during his day at work. It was fun doing simple things together and I enjoyed it. I am far from being a good cook but I'm really trying so hard to learn and I'm surprised 'coz I'm enjoying it.

When i got here Jhen i don't have a clue what am getting into. Like you i dont cook at all too, and don't even know lots of chores. Back in pinas it was my mom and little sister who cook all the time. My sister gets mad at times as am lazy and i dont have any interest in cooking at all. My mom would always encourage me to learn how to cook, but being a hard headed i tend to refused all the time. It was just when i get here that i feel the urge of learning how to cook, so i watched foodnetwork, read recipe books that Vic owned. At first, it was a bit hard, but as times goes by i was enjoying what am doing especially when Vic start gaving me praises. :) It was a joy in my ear to hear him say "thank you for a wonderful dinner baby". By that time, i developed the loved for cooking and i must say it feels good and i can't wait to prepare a good heartly feast for my family when we visit.
BTW, lucky you since Jeff have the stomach for pinoy food, for my part i only cooked american food:) very seldom that i cook pinoy food, so as u can imagine am craving for those food that u just mentioned. :)
