Being Sheltered.

The article written by Alonso Kramer

Sometimes I think growing up in a small town really kept me sheltered from the outside world and I feel like if I would have grown up in a bigger city that I might have more common sense about the world around me and how people act. For instance, I never really thought about locking my doors until I moved to the city because growing up we didn’t even lock our doors when we were going out of town for a long period of time. Basically, I feel like a lot of people could take advantage of me because I am naïve in a lot of ways. Recently, a fiend of mine sent me TexasElectricityProviders.com Now I feel like I am at least not going to be taken advantage of by my energy provider. My only worry now is remembering to lock my doors when I leave the house and trying not leave my car unlocked at night. Hopefully, I can start adjusting myself to the city life and who knows maybe one day I’ll be street smart.

Decorating challenge

We finally have a venue for my baby’s christening party. I didn’t want to hold it at home because our space is small and I don’t think it can accommodate all of my friends and family members. Open pavilion in a park is also out of the question because I don’t want to expose my baby in this crazy hot and humid weather for a long period of time. So it’s got to be someplace indoors. With the help of my sister, I have been able to reserve a community/civic room here in our town. It’s only 2 minutes away from the house and it has a kitchen and a pretty spacious room for the party. However, setting up or decorating the place might be a little bit challenging. Since this is a multi-purpose room available for free for residents, several groups, agencies, clubs, organizations and stuff use this facility. The walls are filled with art work exhibits, trophies, city awards, pamphlets, group photographs and so much more. My heart sank when I saw that there won't be much empty wall for us to set up banners, balloons and stuff. Oh well, we'll work something out. At least we have a place and that's what matters.

Make your own fertilizer.

Most people enjoy growing plants in their garden. It’s something we would like to do when we get to have our own place. Gardening can be fun but it needs so much work, patience and dedication. Not to mention the need to buy fertilizers and stuff to make the plants thrive. Some make use of compost bin for unlimited amounts of free organic fertilizer. Now, that’s something to look into. I mean who would not want free fertilizer right from their own lawns and gardens, right?

Takes treasure hunting to new depths.

I’m glad summer is almost over, lol! I can’t wait for fall so I can finally bring my baby outside and go for walks. I am just not comfortable going out in this crazy hot weather. It gives me headache. I don’t want my baby to suffer through it as well. So if you’re like me, you’ve probably been inside the house your whole summer, eh. Have you done something adventurous like hunting for treasures for example? I remember when I was still in highschool, we would stay up late in school and wait for dark so we could explore the building and hunt for ghosts, lol! Of course, we didn’t see anything. But the thrill and excitement were so hard to ignore. For some people, they’d like to take hunting on the next level. I mean they would use sophisticated metal detectors equipments to search for coins, gold, hidden relics and stuff like that. The hobby can be expensive, but not when you take advantage of those metal detectors sale online. It’s like taking treasure hunting to new depths.

Thoughts on camping and RVs

It must have been convenient for those families that love to do outdoor activities to own an RV. My brother-in-law and his family went to go camping a few weeks back. His wife wishes to have an RV for it is very useful on long trips like that. Their campground neighbor has one and she thinks it’s really wonderful to have one for family outings and stuff. I agree. However, it could be additional expenditure for the family. Not to mention the cost of gas and insurance policies. There may have been reasonable rv insurance quote out there but I think if you don’t travel very much, one might just have to bring a camping tent or something. It is still cool and fun that way, you know!

Blast from the past (80's movies)

I haven't realized how much good stuff from the 80's I missed to watch until Netflix streaming becomes available. With recommendations from hubby who knows a lot about the 80's (music and movies), I have been able to relive the 80's moments through movies. At first I thought it's lame but when I started to watch old movies that I actually like, then I really got interested with more stuff back then. Glad there's Netflix. However, it's just disappointing to know that they will soon increase their rent fees. Oh well, anyway, the following are the movies from the 80's that I have enjoyed watching recently.

*Dirty Dancing
*The Breakfast Club
*Ferris Bueller's Day Off
*The Bodyguard (this is actually from the early 90's, lol! but it's old and I loved it)
*Just One of the Guys
*Poltergeist
