Home Inspection.

We found the house that we want to buy for the first time. It's a 2,612 square foot house, 2 storey, with 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and with a full finished basement. It was built in 1977, so quite a bit old but the house is in excellent condition. We had the home inspection done last Friday. It went pretty well. No major issues found. I was a bit wary about the basement having potential moisture/mildew/mold issues, but the inspector found no evident traces or signs of such, so we were glad. In addition to the general home inspection, we also had Radon and Sewer Inspection done separately. Everything was great. Radon air was at a safe level and sewer pipes were free from tree roots that could clog up the sewer lines. Fixing the problem could be pretty expensive since it may require excavation so we wanted to be sure that this isn't a potential problem with this house. And we're relieved that the results were good. We think it's worth to spend some money with all these inspections before buying the house rather than skip them and find out later on that the house has major issues that had to be addressed immediately. Better safe than sorry, lol! Right now, we are just waiting for the appraisal, then we're going to close in probably 2 weeks or so. We're very excited. It's our first house and we think this is a good investment. I can't wait to decorate, do some updates here and there and make this house a home.
