Giving out credit card information over the internet could be risky and scary. But to tell you the truth, I have done it through my online purchases and have been quite comfortable about it since I'm sure that those websites are legitimate and secured. Most companies that do legitimate business online make sure they have pci compliance hosting. I normally don't do transactions with unsecured and questionable dealers. I've never had problems so far. And I'm pretty sure most credit cards companies would let you contest transactions that you didn't make in the first place.
