Age spots...erase them!

Summer is fun but as you probably already know it, the heat of the sun can damage your skin. It can cause brownish spots that appear on your face and body as a result of overexposure to the sun. These are called age spots. For sure, there are more damaging effects that the sun can do to our skin but the most common and easy to treat are age spots. When we go out, we should never forget to wear sunscreen to protect our skin in the first place. If you notice dark spots on your face, don’t fret because if you just take the time to search the best age spot remover in the market, you can find the one that will work for you. Don't let the summer heat stop you from enjoying the summer season, but remember to be protected all the time.

If there's a will, there's a way

Learning does not stop when you’re done schooling. As a matter of fact, real learning happens outside the school when you get to interact and deal with the realities of life. To most people, including myself, attaining good quality higher education makes a difference in this world. That’s why when time, money and resources are available, it’s always good to grab the opportunity to go back to school and enhance one’s education. But when you already have a family to take care of, the pressures of a real school might be too much to handle. Good thing you now have the option to enroll in an online college degree these days. It's very convenient especially if you have little ones to take care of but you still want to get a college degree.

I'm sure I'll get bigger and I'm ready for it

My second doctor’s visit went well. I learned that I’ve gained 1 pound from the last time they weighed me in which was last April. Despite my morning sickness, I knew I’m not losing weight because even if I’ve always feel like throwing up, I’d still eat and force myself to bring anything down. Sure, there were times that I couldn’t stop myself from puking but these usually happens in the morning when I just woke up and had nothing in my tummy to discharge in the first place. As much as I worry about gaining a lot of weight in this pregnancy, I think of my baby more than my desire not to be fat. So yeah, I try not to worry about weight gain and just eat healthy. When the baby comes out, then that’s probably the time to think about losing weight. Anyway, there are plenty of ways to do it. There are even weight loss drinks out there that are so easy to get. So if I get big during this pregnancy, I don’t care.

Now I Know...

I don’t like hospitals. This is probably why I didn’t become a nurse despite the fact that occasionally I've thought about being one since undeniably, they make good money in this country. Thank God I don’t get sick often, the last time I’ve been to a hospital was during a minor surgery on my left breast to remove a benign lump 3 years ago. But on several occasions, I had to accompany someone or visit relatives and friends in the hospital so I’ve had my fair share of hospital experiences. The first time I’ve seen pulse oximeters I didn’t know what to think of it. It looked like small staplers to me and I wasn’t quite sure how they work, let alone know what they are called. In some of the series shows that I’d love to watch on TV, I kept on seeing this tiny device on hospital patients and I thought it’s time for me to be acquainted with it so I googled it. So now I know that it measures the oxygen saturation of a patient’s blood and changes in blood volume in the skin. Alright, thanks Google!

First Trimester Woes may be over

I can't believe I've been away for so long. Thanks to all my friends who have checked on me through my blog and FB. I don't know how to start a blog now, haha! It's been a while and I feel that despite the long absence, there's really not much fun things to share. I may have had a long vacation from blogging, but trust me, the ordeal that I have gone through is not in anyway could be considered a vacation. I've never thought pregnancy could be this tough and physically challenging. I have been feeling sick for the past weeks. No fever, no flu but my morning sickness was worse than I could have ever imagined. I'd wake up feeling nauseous, dizzy, with mild headache, a severe feeling to puke, had a very odd and yucky taste in my mouth and no appetite at all except ice-cream, lol. I have been following the doctor's and friends' advice to eat small meals frequently and munch on saltine crackers every now and then but it hadn't helped me that much. The nausea gets worst with an empty stomach but after I eat, I'd feel bloated, gassy and still sick. I couldn't find a happy medium. Before pregnancy, I have been suffering with some kind of a gas/tummy problems already. I've been taking antacids and proton pump inhibitor OTC medication for years. And as what I have read this condition gets worse during pregnancy and they ain't kidding!

Oftentimes, I have attempted to blog but the ideas I could think of was just all about how sick and miserable I was. So I decided to rest from blogging for a while and use my laptop only for occasional FB and Netflix instant movie watching purposes. I'm currently on my 13 weeks and I have noticed some positive improvements this week. I'm still not back with my old self but the nausea has started to ease up. I'm hoping that this could be the start of a good 2nd trimester. I am scheduled to see the doctor on Friday and am hoping to hear the baby's heartbeat this time.

I apologize to PayU2 for rejecting several assignments lately. Sorry to all my Entrecarders and good blogger friends as well, for I was not able to pay your blogs a return visit. I know you all have been wondering where I had been. But now I'm back. And hopefully, I won't be too sick anymore to update my blog with some nonsense, haha! Give me some time to catch up with what's latest in your blogs. I miss you all!

Summer vacation ideas

The warm weather makes going to the beach or dipping in the pool so much fun. I’m sure most of you have been planning about your summer escapades already. As for me, the idea to go to Branson seems tempting. After all, we’re only 45 minutes away from this favorite vacation spot in Missouri. But I don’t think I’d be able to enjoy it with my condition right now. Even a ride to the grocery store in town makes me feel uncomfortable these days. The morning sickness kinda limits my ability to move around and do something fun. It’s a possibility that we won’t do any vacationing this year or probably for the next year or so as well. I just hope the inviting Orlando vacation packages would still be there when we’re ready to go out and party again. Hopefully, by that time, a toddler would be tagging along.

Is there a safe alternative out there?

When you’re pregnant, there are things that you just have to avoid to keep the baby safe and healthy. I understand this and I’m taking it seriously that’s why even if my acne have gotten worse each day of my pregnancy I had not put anything on my face except constantly wash it with gentle soap and water. I have read that certain chemicals in beauty products such as Retin-A which are found on anti wrinkle face creams can cause certain birth defects as well so it definitely should be avoided during pregnancy. I’m not quite sure if Sally Hansen chemical hair remover is unsafe but I had also quit using that despite the fact that I need to get rid of the hair on my upper lip as it’s starting to look like a sheer mustache, lol. I’ll remember to ask my doctor on my next visit about that. There’s got to be a way to still look and feel good while being pregnant, isn’t there?

What is hCG?

I have read recently that during the first trimester of pregnancy, the woman’s body produces a glycoprotein hormone also known as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is a natural hormone that develops in the placenta shortly after conception. As a matter of fact, early pregnancy testing in general, is based on the detection or measurement of hCG. Well, I’m pretty sure most moms out there are aware of the occurrence of this hormone during pregnancy. But what intrigues me is an article I’ve found talking about hcg diet recipes. Surely, these weight loss forerunners are trying to use anything possible in this world to concoct formulas so they could come up with products that they can sell to desperate consumers. I’ve read a little about it. It seems controversial. Some people might have tried it but I for one, don’t want any artificial hCG hormones injected in my system for the purpose of losing weight.

Share the good news to everybody.

Being a first time expectant mom can be very exciting and overwhelming at the same time. As what most moms have experienced, the first trimester is the hardest and most crucial. Our body undergoes changes and in my case it’s tough. But I know this will pass and I’m looking forward to really enjoy this stage of motherhood. Along with the difficult symptoms to deal with, first time parents like us think ahead of stuff that the baby might need like clothes, diapers, crib, blankets and designing of the nursery room. However, I think it will be too early for us to buy these things but yeah it did cross our minds among other things. I even thought about sending out photo birth announcements to our family and friends both here and in the PI. I know it’s not really necessary since there’s already Facebook and other networking sites that I share with my friends which I think is a good place to share photos of the future baby. But the idea of sending out birth announcements seem appealing so we’ll see.
